Diplostomum fish and their importance for pond culture
Diplomacy ( Diplostomoses ) is a widely common disease of freshwater fish caused by metacercariae of trematodes of the genus Diplostomum (family Diplostomatidae , a detachment Strigeata ). Metacercariae species in this genus is a highly pathogenic fish organisms, including for fishing and pond fish. To pathogens of susceptible diplostemonous all types of freshwater and anadromous fish, especially salmon, whitefish, sturgeon, carp. They are the most dangerous for larvae, fry and fingerlings of pond fish.
Diplotaenia diseases of pond fish in Kazakhstan are observed quite often. This primarily contributes to the creation of a pond and spawning and rearing farms in the vicinity of natural water bodies, where there are persistent pockets of diplostemonous. Continue reading
I was introduced to reader’s letter “Change” V. Karataeva from Voronezh. He writes to the editor: “. In the fall I was vacationing on the black sea coast. Ya big fan of fishing, made friends there with an old fisherman. Once he told me, among other things, that in the Black sea were the whales. But he no details about it does not know. After returning home, I mentioned this fact to my friends in the shop, and I was scoffed at. I ask the editors to help me figure out if there was an old fisherman.”
I remembered that I had read something similar in one of the old magazines.
Indeed, reviewing the magazine “Nature and hunting”, who edited a well-known ichthyologist L. P. Sabaneyev, I found in the may book for 1880 the note, “the Capture of a whale in the Black sea”.

Sharks in the Red sea (as indeed in all other) always lived. And always posed a danger to humans.
However, one should recognize that the person for shark poses no less a threat: shark fins and livers are delicacies and for their production are destroyed each year hundreds of marine predators.
However, recent events in the Red sea, when several people were injured from shark attacks, were forced to draw public attention on these fish. Try to figure out what species of sharks are dangerous to humans and how this risk be avoided.
Globally, there are about 350 species of sharks. Not all of them are dangerous to humans. And threat vary: some can attack from hunger, others only in certain circumstances. In the Red sea, in particular, meet the following shark species:
Grey reef shark (Carcharhinus amblyrhychos). Reaches 2.6 m in length with a weight 33,7 kg. Bites swimmers as a rule, only when they start to “stick” to it. Continue reading
